INSTRUCTIONS FOR PERFECTION:

  • Use gloves when applying product, embrace the doctor in you.
  • Mix 1 bag in 2-4 gallons of ideally warm water until dissolved. (Mix 1 bag in 4 gallons water for lighter regular clean.
  • Apply mixture liberally to lightly wetted deck (not saturated) for weekly clean with soft brush for easy coverage in 50-100 sq. foot sections (5x5 ft- 10x10 ft).
  • Let sit for 5-10 minutes. Watch the decks darken and fizz white if mold is present as well as pulling vital oils and tannins to the surface for protection.
  • After 5 minutes scrub deck across the grain using a Doodlebug ™ or medium brush. Turn up the tunes, blast it, you’re at the half way mark!
  • When all grey matter is gone, rinse well, to remove soap and stripped surface teak residue. No product can stop the greying of teak, it can only slow it or strip it… simple
  • Blade deck as prep for Step 2. (Note: if some residue remains its ok as the goal is to keep the PH high).
  • Follow up with Simple Sailor - Step 2 Teak Brightener for the ultimate blonde on deck.

Cautions: Skin and eye irritant. See MSDS for details (QR BELOW). *

Disclaimer: Not following the Instructions may lead to amateur looking results. The IMO and MARPOL Code is yet to have a list of approved, straight to the point chemicals for deck washing but do point sailors to the IMDG code for guidance. This in turn makes zero chemicals accepted for use in washing vessels at sea and thus very unclear for the eco conscious seafarer. Help us lobby the IMO to make a list of approved companies/ chemicals (see website). Avoid manufactures claiming ‘MARPOL COMPLIANT, ANNEX 8 doesn’t exist.

    Simple sailor 1 and 2

    On behalf of MY Gigi

I could not recommend this product more highly.

The Part 1 is strong enough to draw dirt and clean the teak well as well as not being damaging to caulking.

The part 2 is strong enough to brighten the teak well, seal it and also not burn stainless and paint when used correctly.

The product comes in very convenient 1lb bags that each bag makes one large bucket of solution when mixed with water.

Customer service is great, and training was provided at request.

    Great product.

    Game changer.

This product is the business, it works exactly as described. It is cost effective, reduces deck clesning time, reduces the space required to store it and leaves the deck super clean ready for the brightener without the fallout trashing everything around the teak. Plus it does not trash the environment either. So that's a win for the boat, a win for the boss, a win for the deck crew and a win for the environment...how cool is that?!
